A licensed plumber installs the drainpipe at the correct location & checks all plumbing pipes & fixtures. A licensed professional checks the subfloor & framing, & completes any needed remedial work before proceeding.

Handle Muraflo shower pans with care to prevent damage to their tiled surfaces. The installer will unpack and inspect the pan, separate template and drain components, & cover the pan until it is installed.

This enables the installer to verify that the pan will fit within the framing, verify correct location of drainpipe, & practice correct handling of the pan. If any discrepancies in framing, subfloor, or drain location are discovered, they must be corrected before proceeding.

After successful completion of the test-fit, the installer can install the Muraflo shower pan, following the steps as shown. It is recommended that pan installation be carried out by a licensed, qualified, & insured professional.

After installation, a licensed plumber connects the drain to the drainpipe. The drain is a top-connect, no-caulk drain. Do NOT use caulk or silicone during drain connection. Once complete, the walls can be tiled via conventional means, following best practices for waterproofing around preformed / prefabricated pans.
