    Rough-In Preparation

A licensed plumber installs the drainpipe at the correct location and checks all plumbing pipes and fixtures. A licensed contractor, or equally professional, checks the subfloor and framing. Any required remedial work must be completed before proceeding.

    Handling, Unpacking, & Inspecting

Muraflo shower trays must be handled with care to prevent damage to their mosaic and tile surfaces. The installer will unpack and inspect it, separate the template and drain components from the tray, and cover the tray until it is safely installed.

    Test-Fitting the Template

Test-fitting the Muraflo template enables the installer to verify that the fit within the framing and the drain location are correct, as well as practice correct handling of the tray. If any discrepancies in framing, subfloor, or drain location are discovered, they must be corrected before proceeding.

    Installing the Shower Tray

It is strongly recommended that tray installation be carried out by a licensed contractor or equally qualified professional. After successfully completing the rough-in preparation, unpacking and inspecting, and test-fitting the tray template, the installer can now proceed with installation of the Muraflo shower tray.

    Drain Connection

After the Muraflo shower tray has been installed, a licensed plumber will connect the drain to the drainpipe. The drain is a top-connect, no-caulk drain. Do NOT use caulk or silicone during drain connection. Once drain connection is complete, the walls can be tiled via conventional means, following best practices for waterproofing around preformed / prefabricated pans.
